SPORTS MASSAGE
I use massage as part of a programme of remedial therapy which includes assessing and measuring movement (intrinsic biomechanics) and, if relevant, prescription of rehabilitative exercises to help you move at your best.

I can also offer hourly massage sessions purely as part of your own maintenance plan to stay mobile, healthy, calm and relaxed.

Sports Massage is not only aimed at athletes, but for anyone suffering muscular discomfort due to poor posture, repetitive or sedentary movement patterns, current or past injuries or conditions, or simply just not moving enough.

The physical action of massage helps to relax and mobilise the many tissues of the body which will help improve range of movement and lesson muscular tension. Reducing muscular tension is a fast and effective way to pain relief.

Increasing range of movement can improve the potential for more efficient movement, thereby speeding recovery from current injury and reducing the risk of further injury.
The action of massage also helps improve circulation, increasing the supply of nutrients to vascular tissues and the removal of metabolic waste. This will help improve overall health and aid in the healing and repair of damaged tissue. Regular massage is therefore very useful for maintaining good health, even when your body is out of pain and moving freely.

Massage is also very relaxing. Incorporating Touch for Health techniques such as meridian massage and palpation of reflex points and neurovascular points can further enhance the effectiveness of massage for emotional stress.
